Lena Vasylak honored as Avondale High School Top Scholar
Student earns academic and athletic scholarship to Rochester University
Lena Vasylak is the daughter of Peter Vasylak and Laura Greenwood and she resides in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Lena is recognized as an Avondale High School Class of 2020 Top Scholar. She has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll every year throughout middle and high school. She played Varsity tennis in her freshman and sophomore years and Varsity volleyball in her sophomore, junior and senior years.
She served as Team Captain of the volleyball team as a senior and also won the Yellow Jacket Award in volleyball as a senior. Lena played three years of national year-long travel volleyball. She also assisted the Avondale Middle School volleyball coaches with practices and try-outs for four years.
Lena has accepted and signed with Rochester University where she will study Pre-med and play volleyball with both an academic and athletic scholarship.
