Lutheran Northwest Teacher Named Michigan’s ACT K-12 Champion
Mrs. Kelly Fink, Oakland University Alum, Receives National Recognition

Rochester Hills, Michigan: Mrs. Kelly Fink, guidance counselor at Lutheran Northwest, has been honored as the “2018 ACT College and Career Readiness Champion” in Michigan. ACT awards only one K-12 educator from each state who makes a positive impact on their communities through their efforts to advance college and career readiness for all.
“Kelly certainly deserves this award. She goes above and beyond for the students and makes a difference at Lutheran Northwest every day,” Steven Meseke, Superintendent for the Lutheran High School Association said. “She helps students discover and develop skills and talents, while also helping them deal with academic, personal, parental, and social pressures – all while providing a wonderful Christian example.”
“…it’s a blessing to have spent 14 years at Lutheran High Northwest. There are administrative tasks that fill each day with planning college visits, Career Day, curriculum, or PSAT testing days, but I am blessed to spend the majority of my days meeting with students. Whether dreaming and planning with students about how to use their God-given gifts for future career choices, working with them on how to become a better student, or counseling them through an anxiety-laden morning, each day is unique and gives ample opportunity to share the love of Christ with them.” -- Kelly Fink
