Macomb Co. Boil Water Alert Still In Place: Here's When It Could End
Officials completed the first round of testing Tuesday, and if results pass safety standards, the advisory should be lifted Thursday.
MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Multiple Macomb County communities and Rochester were still under a boil water advisory Wednesday morning after a massive water main break.
The break happened around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning in the area of 24 Mile Road and North Avenue in Macomb Township, leading to water pressure issues for residents in nearby communities, officials said.
Officials with the Great Lakes Water Authority said the advisory would be lifted after two rounds of water testing, which would take about 48 hours. Officials completed the first round of testing Tuesday afternoon, and if results pass safety standards, the advisory should be lifted on Thursday, officials said.

Under the advisory, residents must bring all water to a boil for at one minute and then let it cool before using. Boiled, bottled or disinfected water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food until further notice.
