Macomb County Drivers Caught Speeding 126, 112 MPH On I-94: Police

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A man and woman from Chesterfield Township were arrested Monday morning after police stopped them for speeding a second time on Interstate 94, Michigan State Police said.

A State trooper said he saw two Dodge Chargers weaving in and out of traffic at 126 miles per hour on eastbound Interstate 94.

Both drivers, a 34-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Chesterfield Township were given a ticket and released by the trooper, police said.

Several miles down the road, the same state trooper noticed a set of Dodge Chargers speeding again on Interstate 94, police said.

The state trooper caught up to the Chargers, which were speeding at 112 miles per hour, and realized they were the same Chargers he just stopped moments ago.

The state trooper stopped one of the Chargers while the other continued speeding down Interstate 94, police said. Another trooper found the second Charger at a gas station at the next exit, police said.

Both drivers were arrested in connection to reckless driving, and officials impounded their Chargers, police said.
