Man Aims Gun At Driver During Rochester Hills Rage Road: Police

Police said a man brake-checked another driver several times before pointing a gun at the driver near Crooks Road, just south of Avon Road.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A Columbiaville man was arrested after police said he pointed a gun toward another driver Thursday while driving in Rochester Hills.

Kevin Douglas Malloch, 40, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a 5-year felony, and brandishing a weapon in public, a 90-day misdemeanor. He was released from the Oakland County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond.

Malloch's next scheduled court date is March 14 for a probable cause conference before Judge Nancy Carniak, officials said.

A 54-year-old Lapeer resident told police he was driving to work Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m., when Malloch hit his brakes multiple times, slowing down his car on Crooks Road just south of Avon Road in Rochester Hills, officers said.

The Lapeer man then rolled down his window and confronted Malloch about his reckless driving, officials said. That's when officers said Malloch pointed a small black handgun at the Lapeer man and asked if he was afraid.

The Lapeer man then drove to a parking lot and called police in the area of Rochester Industrial Drive and West Hamlin Road, officials said.

Officers found Malloch in the area and arrested without incident, officials said. Officers also found an unloaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun Malloch's truck. A magazine with seven rounds was found near the gun.
