Homeowner, Deputy Injured In Rochester Hills House Fire
The homeowner was reportedly trying to retrieve his Harley Davison from the garage that was on fire.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A 64-year-old man and an Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy were minorly injured in a house fire in the 200 block of Sandalwood Drive around 3 p.m. Wednesday morning. According to the report, the first arriving deputies found the garage fully engulfed in flames and the homeowner inside the garage trying to retrieve his 2006 Harley Davison motorcycle.
The deputy attempted to escort him out of the garage and noted that there was debris falling onto them from the ceiling. The deputy tripped and suffered an injury to his shin and knee and the man suffered burns to his forehead. The deputy is currently recovering in the hospital and off work for the next several days, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire spread throughout the house and caused extensive damage, according to the report. It is unclear how the fire started.
