Man Shot To Death During Robbery In Oakland County: Sheriff
Officers arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the shooting, officials said.
PONTIAC, MI — A man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting after a robbery in Oakland County over the weekend, according to the sheriff's office.
The shooting happened at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 100 block of Crystal Lake Drive in Pontiac, officials said.
Officers arrived and found 28-year-old Kevonte Javon Smith shot dead in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the back, officials said.

Witnesses told officers the shooter ran away from the area after the shooting. Officers used a K9 unit and drones to search the area. They quickly found the gun and the clothing they believed the shooter was wearing.
Officers then arrested a 36-year-old Pontiac man roughly three hours after the shooting, officials said.

He was not immediately identified.
Investigators believed the shooting happened during a robbery. They said the two men knew each other.
"It is so sad to see when lives are lost for absolutely no reason," Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. "We look forward to this individual being held to account for the suspected violent homicide."
