Oakland Co. Drunken Woman Yells At Troopers, Tries Fighting Them: Cops

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, MI — A drunken woman was arrested Sunday night in Oakland County after police said she fought with troopers when they asked for her driver's license.

Michigan State Police said two men were fighting outside a car on southbound Interstate 75 near Sashabaw Road in Independence Township on Sunday night at 10:35 p.m.

When troopers arrived to the scene, they found a woman sitting in the driver's seat of a running car instead, officials said.

Troopers quickly determined the woman was drunk and asked for her driver's license, to which she refused and began screaming at troopers, telling them to "say her full name," officials said.

After repeatedly asking for her driver's license, the trooper pulled the woman from her car and tried placing her in handcuffs, officials said.

However, the woman resisted the arrest and tried fighting troopers, officials said.

Troopers eventually placed the woman in handcuffs and took her to a nearby hospital before placing her in the Oakland County Jail, officials said.
