On a (Finally) Snowy Day, Fire & Ice Fest Opens in Downtown Rochester

Did you see the fireworks?

Most of the ice sculptures that were on display along Main Street were covered with a white tarp Friday, but Patch took a peek underneath a few of them. We wanted to give readers a look at what they'll see when they venture downtown tonight and tomorrow for the annual .

The festival is 6-9 p.m. tonight and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday. The highlight will be a fireworks show at 8 p.m. Friday.

In addition to the ice sculptures, visitors can experience cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and warm up with hot chocolate in a warming tent sponsored by the Rochester Lions Club.

A spaghetti dinner to benefit Rochester Area Youth Assistance will be 5-8 p.m. Friday night.
