OXFORD, MI — All Oxford schools will close on Nov. 30, the one-year anniversary of the deadly Oxford school shooting that left four students dead and seven others wounded. Tate Myre, Hana St. Juliana, Justin Shilling and Madisyn Baldwin were killed in the shooting.

"Some may need to spend the day with family and friends from the moment they wake, some may want to take action and serve others and some may not have enough energy to get out of bed," Superintendent Dan Weaver said in a statement. "With all of this in mind, we will not be coming together for service projects organized by student leadership groups as we had once thought."

The All For Oxford Resiliency Center will also allow members of the community to spend time with therapy dogs and engage in parent workshops and craft making. The center will also pass out luminaries that will simultaneously light the homes and streets of Oxford at 7 p.m.

Ethan Crumbley pleaded guilty to 24 charges in connection to the deadly Oxford school shooting, including four counts of murder, one count of terrorism, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony. He is awaiting a sentencing date in the Oakland County Jail.

Crumbley's parents, Jennifer and James Crumbley, were each charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter after prosecutors said they ignored disturbing warning signs from their son leading up to the deadly shooting. They are both housed in the Oakland County Jail as their trial was scheduled to start in January 2023.
