Police Investigate Deaths in Rochester Hills, Orion Township

One death likely a suicide, the other the result of a drug overdose, police said.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – A 50-year-old Troy woman found dead at a Rochester Hills motel Friday afternoon likely died of suicide, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Several suicide notes were found in a room at the Red Roof Inn, 2580 Crooks Road, according to deputies who responded to a call about an unresponsive person about 4:05 p.m. Friday.

The Rochester Hills Fire Department pronounced the subject deceased at the scene via telemetry to a physician at Crittenton Hospital.

The Oakland County Medical Office took custody of the woman’s body.

In another death investigation, police said a 50-year-old Orion Township woman whose body was discovered by her husband about 7:33 a.m. Sunday likely died of a drug overdose.

Deputes and the Orion Township Fire Department responded to the 10 block of Eagle Vista Lane after the woman’s husband said he found her dead in the bedroom. The sheriff’s office said in a statement that the woman “had a history of drug abuse and there was drug paraphernalia found at the scene.”

The Orion Township Fire Department pronounced the woman dead at the scene via a physician at McLaren – Oakland Hospital.

The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the woman’s body and is planning an autopsy.

Both incidents remain under investigation.
