Police Looking For Driver In Deadly Oakland County Hit-And-Run Crash

PONTIAC, MI — Police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning in Pontiac, according to the Oakland Count Sheriff's Office.

Officials believe Todd Lawrence Frank, 59, was walking in the roadway near the intersection of Auburn Avenue and South Astor Street at 12:49 a.m. when he was hit by a sport utility vehicle, the sheriff's office said.

Frank was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, officials said. Police said the driver never stopped.

Officials described the vehicle as a light-colored mid-size SUV. Investigators believe the SUV has damage to the front passenger side, including the passenger side headlight lens. They also believe there's additional damage to the hood and/or fender.

Officials were still investigating the crash.

Anyone with information about the driver, the SUV, or who witnessed the crash was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case. Tipsters remain anonymous.
