Rochester Community Schools Announces New Board Member

ROCHESTER-ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A new board member was appointed Tuesday to the Rochester Community School District.

Dr. Julie Alspach was appointed by the Rochester Board of Education to fill the trustee position vacated by Scott Muska. Her term for the volunteer position runs through Dec. 31, 2024.

The board interviewed five candidates for the trustee position and followed the Revised School Code and Michigan Election Law to fill the vacant position, according to a news release.

Board members cited Alspach's longtime involvement with Rochester Community Schools in selecting her to fill the trustee position.

Alspach is a Rochester Community School graduate and parent who has served as a student teacher, substitute teacher and mentor in the district. She also participated in the last strategic planning process and attends board meetings regularly. She is the lead mentor of the Cyber Cats (5436) robotics team at Stoney Creek High School and has been volunteering for 10 years.
