Rochester Hills Group Aims To Provide School Supplies For Kids In Need
Officials asked for donations through Aug. 1, as the Blast Off 2 School event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — The Neighborhood House in Rochester Hills is hosting a local drive to provide hundreds of eligible students with school supplies, backpacks and clothing.
Officials asked for donations through Aug. 1, as the Blast Off 2 School event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the organization's main office located at 1720 S. Livernois in Rochester Hills.
To participate in the back-to-school supply pickup, families must register online by Wednesday, Aug. 3. Each participant will receive a backpack, school supplies, as well as clothing and a hygiene kit provided by the Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan.

"With the rise in inflation, we’re expecting a greater need from students this year," Neighborhood House Executive Director Michael Dreon said. "Support from the community is pivotal in setting our school-age neighbors on the path to success for the upcoming school year."
This year, officials provided a wish list that includes backpacks, calculators, three-ring binders, pointed tip scissors, ballpoint pens, mechanical pencils, colored pencils, highlighters, solid color pocket folders, dry-erase markers, washable markers, spiral notebooks, binder dividers and more. Items can be dropped off at numerous Rochester Hills area locations, including the Ram’s Horn at 1990 S. Rochester Road, the Rochester Hills Public Library at 500 Olde Towne Road, the Rochester Fire Station at 277 E. Second St, Auburn Hills City Hall, 1827 N. Squirrel Road and the Neighborhood House main office, 1720 S. Livernois Road.
