Rochester Hills Man Approaches Driver With Knife In Road Rage Incident: Sheriff

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — A Rochester Hills man is facing charges in connection with a road rage incident that happened over the weekend in Macomb Township, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
A 63-year-old Roseville man told police he was driving his SUV north on North Avenue at 21 Mile Road on Saturday when the driver of a pickup truck was trying to merge on the roadway, but couldn't, according to the sheriff's office.
The pickup truck driver then started driving erratically, passing multiple vehicles in the southbound lanes, while heading north on North Avenue, according to the sheriff's office.

The pickup truck then passed the SUV that the 63-year-old Roseville man was driving before stopping at a red light on North Avenue at 24 Mile Road, according to the sheriff's office.
While stopped at the light, the pickup driver, identified as 33-year-old Ryan Borella, got out of his truck and approached the SUV while armed with a knife, according to the sheriff's office.

The driver of the SUV told investigators that both he and his passenger, a 38-year-old woman, were fearful for their safety, according to the sheriff's office.
Borella then got back into his pickup truck and drove away, but was later arrested in connection with the incident without a problem, according to the sheriff's office.
Investigators also found a knife in Borella's pickup truck, according to the sheriff's office.
Borella was charged with one count of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent (five year felon) and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (four-year felony). He was placed in jail on a $20,000 bond.
