Rochester Hills Man Dies In 3-Car Crash: Sheriff
A Rochester Hills man has died after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Rochester Hills, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — A Rochester Hills man has died after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Rochester Hills, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office said.
John Bernard Swaintek, 74, was driving a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Auburn Road near John R Road at 8 p.m. when he struck the back of a 2009 Ford Edge that was stopped at a red light, officials said.
The impact of the crash forced the Edge to strike a 2020 GMC Sierra, which was also stopped at a red light, officials said.

Swaintek was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, officials said. Investigators determined he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
A 49-year-old Utica man (driving the Edge) and a 24-year-old man (driving the Sierra) were also wearing their seatbelts and were not injured in the crash, officials said.

Police do not believe alcohol played a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff's office.
