Rochester Hometown Hustle 5K Brings Community, Schools Together

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — It’s almost time again for The Rochester Community Schools Foundation’s annual 5K run and registration is now open. The Hometown Hustle is set for 8:30-11 a.m. May 12. The race will start and end at the main sponsor, Chief Financial Credit Union, located at 200 Diversion St., Rochester Hills.

The 13th annual event is a treasured tradition that celebrates fitness and family time, organizers say.

“The Hometown Hustle brings community members of all ages together to enjoy the picturesque race route that runs through the historic neighborhoods of Downtown Rochester, the Rochester Municipal Park and the Paint Creek and Clinton River Trails,” said RCF Foundation Chairman Bob Justin. “Last year, the Hometown Hustle attracted more than 1,500 participants.”

Local families, businesses, and community partners contribute to the success of the Hometown Hustle.

"Part of what makes the Rochester area so strong is the incredible effort put into the schools within this community,” said Chief Financial President and CEO Tom Dluzen. “The RCS Foundation Hometown Hustle is a fun way to support the schools and meet the community. We are thrilled to once again be the presenting sponsor and kicking off Hometown Hustle right here at our Chief Headquarters. Seeing hundreds gather to support the schools is inspiring. The Chief team is looking forward to 'hustling' alongside residents, teachers, local leaders and supporters."

Participants are encouraged to register early in order to receive a discount. Adult registration is $25 ($30 day of race) and $13 ($18 day of race) for children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Deadline for all online registrations is Monday, May 7, at 11:45 p.m.
