Humanitarian Group Distributes More than $70K per Year

Rochester, MI – August 4, 2018 – Rochester Lions Club, chartered in 1944 with a vision to be the global leader in community and humanitarian service, announced its ongoing membership drive to support its mission. Each year the club donates more than $70,000 to local charities, including Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester Area Neighborhood House and its Food Pantry, JDRF diabetes research foundation, Silent Children’s Speech Fund/Beaumont Hospital, OPC and the Rochester Community Foundation scholarship program, among others.
Prospective members are encouraged to email Lions Club President Steve Rapotec, (president@rochesterlionsclub.org) or join us for dinner at our general meetings held on the first and third Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Rivercrest Banquet Center, 900 W. Avon Road, Rochester Hills.
In his first speech as the new president of the Club, Steve Rapotec quoted Notre Dame Football coach, Lou Holtz, “You have to have something to hope for, something to dream. And even though you’ve done great things so far, what’s going to happen now?” He encouraged all club members to invite friends and neighbors to join this worthwhile humanitarian organization.
