Rochester: Pay for Parking with Your Phone
City council approves contract with Parkmobile, joining Birmingham, Ferndale, Pontiac and Royal Oak

(Posted Oct. 27, 2016) ROCHESTER, MI — It's a whole new way to pay for parking. The Rochester City Council has voted to contract with Parkmobile, an international company that facilitates mobile payments for parking meters through a smartphone app, The Rochester Post reported.
Customers can still pay via credit card or coin, but under the app-based parking program, customers will get a text message when the meter is about to expire. No more jumping up in the middle of a meeting, digging in your pocket for quarters as you dash to your car.
