Stinsons Give $5M Gift to Oakland University

Longtime donors have previously given $530,000 to business and athletic programs.

A Rochester couple is donating $5 million to their alma mater, Oakland University, to support two areas they’re passionate about — the School of Business Administration and the Department of Athletics.

Craig and Ann Stinson have previously given $530,000 to the university, mostly in support of the School of Business Administration.

The gift announced Monday will enhance the Stinson Student Advancement Center and also also name the Stinson Family Student-Athlete Development Center in Athletics.

Craig Stinson from OU with a degree in finance and Ann Stinson graduated with a degree in marketing.

“The gift is being designed to help students bridge the gap between finishing their academic careers and becoming productive members in the working world,” Craig Stinson said in a statement.
