SUV Smashes Into Rochester Hills Building; No Injuries: Report

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI — No one was hurt after an 81-year-old man accidentally drove his 2022 Ford Escape into a Rochester Hills building Wednesday, according to a report citing police.

The crash happened at the Pet Supplies Plus, located at Walton Boulevard near Livernois Road at 9:11 a.m. Wednesday, according to the report.

"He mistakenly put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake," police said, according to the report. "His vehicle drove over the sidewalk, through the front doors of the business and continued through the business. The vehicle struck the check out counter as well as some store shelves before coming to rest."
