Teen Shot Dead In Oakland County; Police Looking For Shooter: Sheriff

Oakland County officials said they believe several shots were fired and were still looking for the shooter.

PONTIAC, MI — Police are looking for a shooter after a teenager was shot dead Saturday night in Oakland County, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Desiree Childs, 16, was walking with a friend near the intersection of Johnson and Menominee in Pontiac at 11:22 p.m. when she was shot in the chest.

Childs was taken to a nearby hospital where she died, officials said. Her friend was not injured in the shooting, officials said.
