Thejas Rengaswamy recognized for academic achievement

Avondale High School Class of 2020 Top Scholar Thejas Rengaswamy is the son of Rengaswamy Srinivasan and Malina Rengaswamy and he resides in Troy, Michigan. Thejas was a member of the National Honor Society for three years, the Spanish Honor Society for two years, and on the Principal’s Honor Roll. He played tennis for four years, three years on Varsity, and Varsity golf for four years. He was a Scholar Athlete in both sports four times. Thejas is a founder of Bubble Bee Bistro, a non-profit coffee shop at Avondale High School. He helped the student-run company generate thousands of dollars for charities including Avondale Blessings in a Backpack and Avondale Gift of Giving. A member of the Rochester/Auburn Hills Youth Community Coalition Youth Action Council for two years, Thejas served as the Director of Technology his senior year. He was also a youth coordinator for Avondale Youth Assistance for three year, receiving Senatorial and Congressional Achievement Awards. Thejas was also in the Diversity Club for three years. Thejas plans to attend the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan to study Finance and Economics.
