One of the early members of the Theosophical Society became the first prominent white American Muslim convert, a man named Alexander Russell Webb, initially began taking a serious interest in Islam after starting a correspondence with Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (a.s) in late 1886. In this correspondence, which lasted several months, Webb showed enthusiasm for spreading Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s (a.s) ideas and was invited to Qadian to study under the teacher. Later he was able to visit India and between 1893 and 1897, Webb led the first major Islamic movement in America.

While providing an overview of the five pillars of Islamic teachings, Imam Shamshad Nasir said “To become Muslim, you simply have to believe in the unity of God and that Muhammad(pbuh) is his messenger, it’s that simple”.
Islam is a religion of peace at its core. All of its teachings revolve around creating peace in personal life as well as in community, nation and across the entire humanity. Its teachings are universal that are deeply rooted and based on nature. Islam stresses so much on peace that its greetings mean ‘peace on you’ and the word ‘Islam’ itself mean peace.
