Thieves Steal $11K Worth Of Jewelry From Auburn Hills Mall: Police

Police are looking for three men in connection with a smash-and-grab theft at a shopping mall in Auburn Hills over the weekend.

AUBURN HILLS, MI — Police are looking for three men in connection with a smash-and-grab theft at a shopping mall in Auburn Hills over the weekend, according to police.

The three masked men walked into the Helzberg Diamond Outlet store in the Great Lakes Crossing Outlets mall on Baldwin Road near Interstate 75 at roughly 5 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

The masked men then took out hammers and smashed numerous displays cases inside the store, and took $11,000 worth of jewelry, according to police.

The masked men did not assault or threaten any store employees, according to police.

After grabbing the jewelry, the three masked men ran out of the mall and got into a black SUV, which was last seen leaving the parking lot and traveling on Baldwin Road, according to police.

Investigators believe the men are aged between 18-25, roughly 6 feet tall with thin builds. They all wore black hooded sweatshirts, gloves, surgical masks and black knit hats, according to police.

Investigators determined the reports of gunfire were sparked by the sound of the hammers striking the glass cases, according to police.

No further information was released.
