When Is Opening Day for Downtown Rochester Farmers Market?
This is a sure sign of spring: Michigan-grown produce available in a street fair atmosphere is just around the corner.

ROCHESTER, MI – If you can already taste fresh, locally grown produce purchased in a street fair environment, you’ll have to wait just a little longer.
But it’s close, oh so close. The Downtown Rochester Farmers Market opens for its 17th season on Saturday, May 7, at the corner of E. Third and Water streets, just a block east of Main Street. The market will be open from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 29.

The market features only Michigan-grown or made products, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, container gardens, fresh cut flowers, herbs, homemade baked goods, gnocchi, jams and jellies, honey, maple syrup, tea blends, locally roasted coffee and various certified organic products including eggs, beef and chicken.

- Free farmers market tote bags with special offers from downtown Rochester businesses and farmers market vendors for the first 500 adult customers;
- Live music by blues artist Paul Miles;
- Children’s Mother’s Day activity, sponsored by the Rochester DDA and Michigan State University Extension Master Gardeners;
- Live animals from Upland Hills Farm;
- Chances to win gift certificates donated by downtown Rochester businesses;
- Chances to win the harvest basket drawing for a plethora of products donated by market vendors.
