Yellow Jackets Cheer Team headed to Texas
Avondale High School announces team selected to perform at Alamo Bowl

Avondale High School Cheer Team has begun planning for a trip to Texas to ring in the 2016 New Year by cheering at the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. The team will appear before 65,000 college football fans and a national television audience.
Team coach, Lisa Belotti is excited for the girls who will cheer during the game and perform in a special routine at halftime. “The girls compete and cheer and stay active for most of the school year. They maintain a demanding practice and training schedule even through the summer. It’s nice that they have this opportunity to showcase the results of their hard work.”
The Yellow Jackets Cheer Team will join with the most talented high school dance, cheer and drill teams from around the country for the halftime show, created by nationally acclaimed choreographers. The opportunity to be counted among the nation’s elite and train with highly skilled professionals isn’t lost on Belotti. “This is a chance for our team to learn and grow from watching and working with their peers across the country. Every member of our team is hard working, skilled and motivated – I think they’ll see this as an opportunity take their talents to the next level.”

The Alamo Bowl performance will include cheerleaders from the Avondale Varsity and Junior Varsity cheer teams – from the 9th through 12th grades. “We want as many team members as possible to participate so we’ll be doing a lot of fundraising,” added Belotti. “If someone works hard and is motivated to go then she should have the chance to participate. It’s going to be an experience they will always remember.”
