9 Must-Know Royal Oak Schools December Dates

The Jingle Bell Jazz program combines music and community service, plus winter break, conferences and other key dates.

Royal Oak schools will dismiss Dec. 21 for the holiday break, and classes will resume Jan. 4.

There are several key dates between now and then that parents should mark on their calendars.

One of the highlight events is the annual Jingle Bell Jazz program incorporates community service into the Royal Oak High School instrumental program, which will support the Welcome Inn Day Center, which serves homeless individuals in South Oakland County. The program will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the high school, 1500 Lexington Blvd.

Dec. 1: Elementary parent/teacher conferences, 4-7 p.m.

Dec. 2: Professional learning morning — early start for teachers and late start for students.

Dec.3: Elementary parent/teacher conferences, 4-7 p.m.

Dec. 7: PTA Council meeting, 7 p.m.

Dec. 9: Professional learning morning — early start for teachers and late start for students.

Dec. 14: Elementary PTA meetings, 7 p.m.

Dec. 16: Professional learning morning — early start for teachers and late start for students.
