Stagecrafters Receives Grant for Professional Development
The project is one of six to receive funding from Oakland County Arts, Culture & Film grants.

A Royal Oak community theater organization has been awarded a grant from Oakland County.
Stagecrafters is one of six area organizations to share more than $13,000 in grants recently awarded by the Oakland County Arts, Culture & Film through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.
Stagecrafters received $893 to fund professional development for employees.

The grants are designed to fund "high quality, locally developed projects that increase public access to art and culture," according to a news release.

- Birmingham Education Foundation. They received $2,500 for a residency with the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings at Groves and Seaholm high schools.
- Troy Schools. The district received $3,000 for a Kids n' Motion series for elementary students.
- Waterford Kettering High School. The school received $3,000 for a two-day artistic residency for middle and high school band students by the Motor City Brass Band.
- Mary Helen Guest Elementary, Walled Lake. They received $2,500 for a songwriting residency for fifth-grade students.
- Adams Parents for Instrumental Music at Rochester Adams High School: The $1,250 grant will help Adams host a residency project with Pro Musica of Detroit, featuring classical guitarist Dimitris Kotronakis, in this spring.
