Alcohol Likely Factor in Pedestrian Killed In Royal Oak Township
The driver of the pickup was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Royal Oak Township, MI — Michigan State Police said Monday that a man struck and killed when he attempted to run across Eight Mile Road in Royal Oak Township around 11:35 a.m. Sunday may have been drunk.
The man, who has been identified only as a 28-year-old Detroit resident, was hit by a 2001 Ford pickup that was headed westbound on Eight Mile near Meyers Road, WWJ/CBS Detroit reports.

He died of his injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of the pickup, a 30-year-old , was taken into custody on previously existing warrant for driving with a suspended license, police said. It's unclear if she will face any charges related to the accident.
