Corewell Health Children’s receives nearly $1.2 million in Children’s Miracle Network Grants

Corewell Health Children's has announced financial support from Children's Miracle Network (CMN) for programs at Corewell Health Children's. Nearly $1.2 million dollars in grants have been issued to enhance approximately 60 pediatric programs at Corewell Health locations in Southeast Michigan for fall/winter 2026.

Corewell Health Children's is also excited to announce the 2027 Children's Miracle Network Child Ambassador for Corewell Health Children's, Levi Kneisler of Cottrellville Twp. CMN grants help children like Levi during their life's journey.

Levi was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in 2025. The following chemotherapy and hospital visits were challenging. Living in St. Clair County, the Kneislers commute more than an hour for treatment in Royal Oak. Throughout his treatment, the teams at the Skandalaris Family Center for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Proton Therapy Center have provided compassionate, specialized care and support.

Since 1988, Children's Miracle Network has been a valued fundraising partner of Corewell Health Foundation Southeast Michigan, helping raise more than $95 million to advance pediatric care, expand access to groundbreaking research, and bring the latest technologies to children across the region. Each year, more than 320,000 local children benefit from programs and services made possible through this support.

Twice each year, Corewell Health pediatric nurses, physicians and clinical leaders request grant funding from Corewell Health Children's and CMN to support new or existing pediatric initiatives.

In August, nearly $1.2 million in grants were awarded to hospital-based and community programs including: education and training to support new NICU nurse practitioners; school-based pantries; the annual Bike Day to award custom bikes; specialized infant medical equipment; and much more.

Donations from the community and corporate partners make the CMN grants possible. Major CMN corporate partners in Southeast Michigan include Speedway, Costco, Walmart and Sam's Club, Ace Hardware, RE/MAX, Panda Express, Dairy Queen, and Marriott International. These businesses reach out to their employees and customers through retail promotions, gathering donations one dollar at a time.
