Democrat Jeremy Moss is projected to win the race for Michigan's 11th Congressional District, which covers most of Oakland County.

Moss succeeds Democrat Haley Stevens, who first won the seat in 2018. Stevens opted to run for U.S. Senate and lost a close primary matchup against Abdul El-Sayed.

Moss is no stranger to politics, having served in the Michigan State Legislature since 2015.

"I served with Jeremy in the Michigan Senate, and I have seen firsthand how he fights for his constituents and overcomes obstacles to get things done for the people he represents. Jeremy will take his resilience and legislative experience to continue serving Michiganders in the halls of Congress by lowering costs, protecting our freedoms, and holding the Trump administration accountable," Michigan Democratic Party Chair Curtis Hertel said.

Here are the unofficial live election results:

Moss - 169,899

Baker - 108,570

Anil Kumar - 2,264

Farid Ishac - 2,250

Ryan Teasdale - 2,111

Precinct reporting - 66 percent

The district was consolidated to include the south-central section of the county after redistricting. It includes major cities Auburn Hills, Ferndale, Pontiac, Royal Oak, Troy, West Bloomfield Township and Wixom.

Election results are unofficial until certified by election authorities.
