Armed Robbery in Royal Oak

​The suspect allegedly stole a wallet and money before fleeing on foot.

Royal Oak, MI – The Royal Oak Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at Jax Kar Wash, located at 27054 Woodward Avenue.

On June 21 at 7:33 p.m., it is believed a lone suspect entered the main office armed with a silver and black handgun, according to a news release. He confronted the manager who was alone in the office counting the daily deposit.

The suspect allegedly stole the manager’s wallet and an undisclosed amount of currency before fleeing on foot westbound on Mile Road. A Hazel Park Police Department K-9 officer responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

He tracked the suspect to the 1200 block of W. 11 Mile in the city of Berkley where the track was lost.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5’9”, mid 20’s, wearing a face mask, dark pants, red shirt, blue and yellow Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap, and blue gloves.
