ROYAL OAK, MI — A Royal Oak man was charged with felonious assault after allegedly using a knife to threaten another resident with a knife after blocking his assigned parking spot with a van, police said.
The incident unfolded about 9:40 p.m. on July 31 on the 1800 block of Shire Court, according to the Royal Oak Police Department’s activity report for the week of July 28-Aug. 4.
Police said the altercation started when Robert Rovinsky, 58, blocked the victim’s assigned parking space. When the victim asked Rovinsky to move to move his van, he allegedly backed up, but almost hit the victim’s vehicle and continued to block the parking space. When the victim confronted Rovinsky, he allegedly pulled out the knife and threatened the victim, but did not exit the van, police said.
