Beaumont Health team members receive recognition
Beaumont Health's Terry Kowalenko, M.D. Kathleen Pawlicki M.D., and Kevin Baker earn accolades and awards
Kowalenko elected president of American Board of Emergency Medic
Terry Kowalenko, M.D., chair of Emergency Medicine at Beaumont
hospitals in Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak and Troy, has been elected
president of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Kowalenko has
been a member of the ABEM’s board of directors since July 2010 and was
elected to the Executive Committee in 2014. He also serves as a
professor and chair of Emergency Medicine at the Oakland University
William Beaumont School of Medicine.
Pawlicki appointed to Michigan Board of Pharmacy

Kathleen Pawlicki, vice president and chief pharmacist, Beaumont
Health, was appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder to the Michigan Board of
Pharmacy. The 11-member board is responsible for regulating and
inspecting the practice of pharmacy and drugs manufactured and
distributed in Michigan. Pawlicki will serve a four-year term. She is
also immediate past chair of the Pharmacy Management Committee for the
Michigan Hospital Association.

Kevin Baker, Ph.D., director of Orthopedic Research, Beaumont
Hospital, Royal Oak, is the recipient of the “Outstanding Young Alumni
Award” given by the Michigan Technological University alumni board of
directors. The award honors alumni under the age of 35 who have
distinguished themselves in their careers. The research of Baker and his
team in the regeneration of bone and cartilage has received
international attention.
