Broken Water Pipe Forces City Clerk's Office to Relocate
The Royal Oak City Clerk's office will move to a new space for about six weeks.

ROYAL OAK, MI – The Royal Oak City Clerk's office is closed on Monday as it prepares to relocate to the police building following a burst heating pipe on March 8 that caused major water damage to three floors at City Hall, located at 211 S. Williams.

The clerk's staff will move into the former traffic bureau space, which is located directly west of the main desk at the police building at 221 E. Third.

The city staff has asked for the public's patience as it works toward delivering all of clerk's services again, which includes managing elections, providing birth and death certificates, issuing solicitation permits, providing dog licenses, bike licenses and keeping official city records.
The staff of the Royal Oak City Attorney's office is also temporarily displaced, moving to various locations within City Hall and the 44th District Court. A print shop located in the basement of City Hall has been closed since the flooding incident. It is expected to resume its operations as early as next week.
