WHAT: All proceeds from participating, Detroit-area Jersey Mike’s locations will benefit Beaumont Children’s Student Heart Check Program, an affiliate of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Jersey Mike’s began supporting the program in 2013 and has raised more than $350,000 to help provide free screenings to thousands of students.

FAST FACTS:
• Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” is the culmination of its Month of Giving fundraising campaign for Beaumont Children’s Student Heart Check, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals program.
• Jersey Mike’s Subs’ franchisees have also identified 13 high schools in Southeast Michigan to donate automated external defibrillators to athletic programs.
• Last year, the nationwide initiative raised more than $6 million for local charities.
• Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $34 million for local charities and has distributed more than 1.5 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
• Beaumont created the Student Heart Check in May 2007. Since then, Beaumont has screened 17,149 Michigan high school students. Of those students, 207 were told to stop sports and follow-up with a cardiologist due to heart abnormalities.
