A quick roundup of some cool stuff happening in June that might be of interest to Royal Oak moms and dads!
- Sign up for summer reading at the Royal Oak Public Library! They have a ton of cool free events this month and over the summer -- evening storytimes, creative movement classes, science stuff -- and the program is open to even the newest baby Oaks!
- Follow local fave Jim's Frostie Treats on Facebook (no affiliation with them, promise -- just love their ice cream!) Not only do they post regular deals, but they often do outdoor movies in the grassy lot next to their shop.
- If you're up for a journey out of town, there are some great kids activities and free concerts at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. If you're a smartphone geek like me, you'll love their mobile app, too, which lets you "favorite" events, buy tix, and get reminders about the events you want to go to.
- A number of area churches are conducting their Vacation Bible Schools this month. A pretty comprehensive list is here.
- Get your family's fill of street food at the Food Truck Rally at the Farmers' Market on Weds, June 12!
- Also at the Market is Detroit Public Television's "Kids Club Live!" June 25 and 26. Free for kiddos under 12 months, $10 a piece for everyone else.
- PlayAway offers fun summer stuff for littles, including Art in the Park on June 19 for ages 2-4. Learn more here!
