Deputy on Patrol Notices Rochester Hills House Fire
The Fire Investigation Unit from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the follow-up investigation.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – A Wednesday night fire at a Rochester Hills residence remains under investigation, authorities said.

An Oakland County deputy noticed flames and smoke coming from the residence in the 450 block of East Avon Road around midnight while on patrol in the area, the sheriff’s office said in a news release

The Rochester Hills Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
The residents of the home were not home, and there were no injuries to the firefighters who responded.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The fire department asked for the assistance of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigations Unit, according to the report.
