Detroit Zoo Starts Vaccinating Animals Against COVID-19
The Detroit Zoo said gorillas, chimpanzees, tigers and lions are the first to receive doses.

ROYAL OAK, MI—The Detroit Zoo said on Monday it has started vaccinating animals against COVID-19, according to WXYZ.
Gorillas, chimpanzees, tigers and lions are the first to receive doses from a special vaccine designed specifically for animals, WXYZ said.
“Much like we vaccinate dogs for things like parvovirus, distemper or rabies, this is needed to protect animals at the Zoo,” Dr. Ann Duncan, director of animal health for the DZS said, according to the report.
