Election 2016 Provides Civic Lesson for Royal Oak Students

Teens will greet voters at polls and help them through the process.

(Posted Nov. 7, 2016) ROYAL OAK, MI — Thirty-one Royal Oak High School students will get a real-life lesson in how elections work Tuesday when they help out at 16 city precincts, The Daily Tribune reported. The students will be use the Greeter app installed in tablet computers to help guide voters to the right lines, which will cut down on wait times, and ease the process for first-time voters, Royal Oak city clerk Melanie Halas told the newspaper. Students helped with the 2012 presidential election as well.
