Ford Arts, Beats and Eats Raises $325,000 for charities
More than 415,000 attended the festival; more than 60 groups reap the benefits.

(Originally published Oct. 6, 2016) ROYAL OAK, MI — This year's Ford Arts, Beats and Eats festival raised more than $325,000 this year to help more than 60 charitable and cultural organizations. Donations were distributed Tuesday in Royal Oak.
County Executive L. Brooks Patterson announced that the festival has been extended for four years, keeping the event in Royal Oak through 2021, according to the Daily Tribune. “I’m thrilled about the donations raised in 2016, and that the festival will continue in Royal Oak for many more years,” said Patterson.
Royal Oak Mayor Jim Ellison told the Daily Tribune he city is proud to be able to continue the festival in the city.

“Ford Arts, Beats and Eats continues to be one of the highlights of the year in Royal Oak,” said Ellison. “It’s a big win for our community and local businesses.” This year’s festival featured many new cultural programs and public engagement events including the Meters Made Beautiful program as well as the return of Arts du Jour.
