Free Concert 6/30/16 - Violin Tour Group from Suzuki Royal Oak Institute of Music

The advanced violin students of SRO will perform in this free Bon Voyage concert Thursday, June 30th from 7-8pm at Our Shepherd Birmingham.

Join us for an evening of violin magic, to bid the SRO Violin Tour Group bon voyage as they depart for their 2016 New England Tour! This group of advanced students has been preparing all year for a performance tour of New Hampshire and Vermont. Highlights will include collaboration with other Suzuki schools, a perfomance at a minor league baseball game, and an appearance to kick off the Green Mountain Suzuki Institute.

This Bon Voyage concert will feature a variety of selections from Bach, Telemann, Brahms, von Paradis, Bohm, and Lindsey Stirling.

All are welcome, admission is free, inspiration is priceless!

Suzuki Royal Oak Institute of Music is a non-profit community music school founded in 1991 by its present Executive Director, Mark Mutter. The school has expanded to include 12 teachers providing instruction in violin, viola, cello, classical guitar, and piano. SRO has an enrollment of over 170 students ages 3-18 from around Metro Detroit, and also welcomes adults for private study.

SRO students study with a private teacher as well as in a group class, and have additional opportunities for music theory, chamber music and orchestra. Students also perform regularly in individual recitals, group concerts, and performances in the community such as Noel Night and Arts, Beats and Eats. Our advanced Tour Group has performed in Disney World, England, Austria, The Czech Republic, Italy, Greece, Canada, Spain, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Finland, Estonia and Russia, as well as an appearance at Carnegie Hall.
