“Some of us were fortunate enough to have met Trooper Wolf during his support of the Woodward Dream Cruise and remember him as friendly, professional and a dedicated public servant,” Stanton said in a news release.

Wolf left behind a wife and four young children.

Tickets for the game are $10 and may be purchased in advance at either Royal Oak police headquarters or the fire station, or at the John Lindell Ice Arena the night of the event.

The Guns & Hoses hockey game has raised nearly $32,000 for various charities through the Metro Detroit Area since 2010.

The police department took a 3-2 series lead in 2015 with a 10-4 win over the fire department in 2015.
