“I’m just like, ‘We gotta try something else,’ and … I’m not an expert at political science or anything,” Rock said. “I do try to follow things, obviously. I’m a pretty good, tax-paying citizen of this country. Let the business guy in there. It’s not really working to well running it not like a business. …”

In 2012, Rock endorsed and campaigned with Republican nominee and Michigan native Mitt Romney.

On Tuesday, Trump was campaigning in New Hampshire, where he promised to talk more about “unfair” treatment by the media. Complaining on social media, he said, “the media has not covered my long-shot great finish in Iowa fairly. Brought in record voters and got second highest vote total in history!”

A new poll released Thursday showed Trump leading his two closest rivals — Cruz and Rubio — 3-1 in Michigan.

The Mitchell Fox 2 Detroit Poll, a margin of error of about 5 percent, showed Trump with 51 percent, Cruz with 15 percent and Rubio with 12 percent. Michigan native Dr. Ben Carson, who had strong numbers in the same poll last summer, slipped to fifth place in the latest poll.

In the August Mitchell/Fox poll, Trump figured to capture 20 percent of the Michigan Republican primary vote, followed by former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina with 15 percent, Carson and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush with 12 percent each, Rubio with 10 percent and Cruz in the single digits with 8 percent.

According to state GOP rules, any candidate who gets 15 percent or more of the statewide vote is entitled to delegates. Depending on how many candidates get 15 percent or more of the total vote, delegates will be apportioned based on their percentage of the vote.

Also in Michigan political news, Dearborn Democrat John Dingell, a Twitter-savvy 89-year-old who was the longest-serving member of Congress until his retirement last year, made fun of Cruz in a tweet congratulating him on his Iowa Caucus win.

“Congratulations to Ted Cruz on winning the critically important primary state that also gave us President Santorum and President Huckabee,” Dingell tweeted.
