Let me tell you how to vote

If you are a single-issue voter re the Human Rights Ordinance, vote for only two candidates, not three.
You want Yes-votes? Elect Sharlan Douglas and Jeremy Mahrle.
You seek No-votes? Elect Diane Hargan and re-elect David Poulton.

For those of you who vote by political party in this formally nonpartisan election, I have come away from conversations with all four candidates with the following conclusions or impressions:
Sharlan and Jeremy proudly proclaim they are Democrats.
David -- who registered Republican in the Primary -- prefers to be identified as "center-Right."
Diane, her HRO-focus aside, comes through as an open-minded political newcomer who leans conservative but who looks unkindly on the Republican Party.
