Lock It Or Lose it: Moral in Royal Oak Police Blotter
Royal Oak police took multiple breaking-and-entering and larceny from a vehicle reports.

Royal Oak, MI — If you’re looking for trends in Royal Oak police reports for the week of June 2-9, it’s unlocked vehicles, garages and homes
On June 3, a woman whose home is on the 300 block of E. Harrison told police someone entered her residence through an unlocked door and stole three watches, a pair of diamond stud earrings, a bottle of Hennessy cognac, a cell phone charger, and two pair of sunglasses.
Police said that two people who left their vehicles unlocked, one in a parking lot and the other in front of her residence, reported thefts.

A man who parked his unlocked car in a lot on the 3100 block of Greenfield between 10 p.m.-8 p.m. June 6 discovered an Apple iPod, phone charger and miscellaneous paperwork had been stolen.
A woman living on the 3200 block of Prairie said that sometime between 11:30 a.m. on June 6 and 11:25 a.m. the following day, someone entered her unlocked car and stole two pair of prescription sunglasses and miscellaneous paperwork.

Then, on June 8, a man whose home is on the 700 block of W. 13 Mile said that sometime between 8:30-10:30 a.m., a thief walked in an unlocked door of the attached garage and forced open a door to the residence.
In that case, nothing was stolen or out of place. The homeowner told police he has several dogs that may have deterred the suspect.

514 S. Lafayette (Parking Structure), 6-6-16, 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Complainant reported she parked her 2015 Chrysler Town and Country in the parking structure. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had broken out the passenger side window and stole the in-dash navigation system.
Malicious Destruction of Property
2000 block of E. Fourth Street, 6-4-16 – 6-5-16, 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Complainant reported he parked his vehicle in his driveway. When he returned, he discovered an unknown suspect had slashed three (3) of the tires.
3200 block of Parker, 6-4-16 – 6-5-16, 9:00 p.m. – 8:15 a.m.: Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in the driveway. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had broken the rear windshield with an unknown object.
