5-Month-Old Abused, Mom's Boyfriend Could Face Life In Prison
A woman brought her 5-month-old baby to the emergency room in Royal Oak to discover her boyfriend has likely been abusing her child.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A 23-year-old man could spend the rest of his life behind bars if found guilty of abusing his girlfriend’s 5-month-old baby. Seth Theodore Blumberg was arrested last month after police investigated an infant being brought into Royal Oak’s Beaumont Hospital March 19 with extensive injuries. According to the police report from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the baby had “internal injuries and visible injuries to the face, head and abdomen.”
The mother brought the baby into the emergency room after noticing more pronounced bruising on the child as the week progressed. Investigators spoke with the mother and determined her boyfriend may have been abusing the child while she was gone from the home. The couple is from New Hudson.
Blumberg has a prior conviction out of Novi for possession of child pornography, dating back to 2016. He has now been charged with first degree child abuse and assault with intent to murder in Novi’s 52-1 District Court. Both charges carry a life sentence. His bond has been set at $500,000 and he remains in the Oakland County Jail.
