Man Arrested After Smashing Numerous Royal Oak Business Windows: Cops

A Pontiac man was arrested Saturday morning after vandalizing numerous Royal Oak businesses, police confirmed to Patch.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A Pontiac man was arrested Saturday morning after vandalizing numerous Royal Oak businesses, Royal Oak Police Lieutenant Al Carter confirmed to Patch.

Police believe the 41-year-old man was suffering from a severe mental breakdown as he threw large rocks through numerous glass windows at closed businesses and vehicles on Woodward Avenue near 13 Mile Road.

In total, seven businesses (which were closed at the time) and numerous vehicles in the Village Jeep parking lot were damaged by the rocks, police said.

As of Tuesday, police did not have a dollar amount as the businesses were still waiting for totals, police said.

The 41-year-old Pontiac man was taken to a facility for treatment, while police pursue charges.

Police did not reveal a possible motive for the vandalism, or report any injuries in the incident.
