Man Arrested for Drugged Driving in Accident: Police
The Royal Oak police also reported cell phone thefts, several vehicle break-ins between April 27 and May 4.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A Royal Oak man, convicted twice of drunk driving, is facing charges of driving under the influence of drugs after city police arrested him on Monday, May 1, following an accident, according to a media report. The accident occurred at about 7 p.m. near Woodward and Lincoln and resulted in minor injuries, the Daily Tribune reported.
Police officers who investigated the accident said they suspect the motorist, 43, was impaired by prescription medications, according to the Daily Tribune. They are continuing to investigate the accident.
Overall, for the week of April 27 through May 4, the Royal Oak Police Department reported 41 arrests, including three felony cases, six misdemeanors, three cases of marijuana possession and two cases of possession of crack cocaine.

The police also reported two thefts of cellphones. The first occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on April 29 at the Craft Bar, 419 Main St., according to the Daily Tribune. A woman told police that an unidentified thief stole her phone from her back pocket and fled on foot from the bar.
The police describe the suspect as a black woman in her early 20s, with long dark hair and wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket.

The other theft occurred between noon and 2 p.m. May 1 in the 4400 block of Crooks Road. A resident reported that someone stole a package from her home that contained a new Samsung phone.

1200 block of Smith Avenue, between 4-28-17 and 4-29-17, 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) broke the rear window of his 1990 Ford and stole a backpack, an iPad and an after-market stereo.
3100 block of North Wilson Avenue, between 4-28-17 and 4-29-17, 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked 2015 Chrysler and rifled through the inside of the vehicle.
3200 block of North Wilson Avenue, between 4-28-17 and 4-29-17, 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked 2011 Ford and stole a video camera and a hunting knife.
3200 block of North Wilson Avenue, between 4-28-17 and 4-29-17, 11:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked 2012 Ford and stole some makeup products and coins.
